Whether you use a Mac or an iPad, here's how to power up and connect Apple's Magic Keyboards.

Power on and connect a Magic Keyboard for Mac by sliding the power switch and selecting it in the Bluetooth settings.
Connect your Mac's Magic Keyboard to an iPad by powering it on, opening Bluetooth settings on the iPad, and selecting the keyboard under Other Devices.
The Magic Keyboard case for iPads connects magnetically and doesn't require Bluetooth or a power switch. Align your iPad with the case, and you should be good to go.
